PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: I hope you all had a wonderful Easter with your families and I hope you all were busy preparing the traditional pies and cookies for Easter. Has spring finally arrived? I hope the April showers bring May flowers. It is nice to see the sunshine. The wine tasting event at our last meeting was a great success. I would like to thank the following members for bringing their superb wines: Brs. Lester Stanco, Dante De Blasio, Frank Stanco,Carmine Gioino, Rocco Cangero and Rocco Lisena. A special thank you to Sr. Phyllis Cipollino for purchasing the delicious cheese and salami for the evening. We are fortunate to have these talented winemakers in our Lodge. Those who assisted in the kitchen were: Srs. Phyllis Cerullo, Lillian Ceriello and Anthonetta Sclafani. I would also like to thank our Brother Dr. Michael Cavuoti for providing us with $5,000 for the scholarship in his name. My thanks go out to all the officers who wore the Lodge uniform at our last meeting. You all looked great. I would appreciate it, if you would wear your uniforms to all membership meetings. At our next meeting we will be initiating new members into the Lodge and we will also be celebrating the 84th.Anniversary of Loggia Glen Cove #1016. After the meeting we will have a delicious collation. In the last issue of LaVoce I mentioned the wrong date for the Spring Dance. The correct date for the dance is Saturday, June 19th. Please mark your calendars. (See flyer attached) Please remember the Atlantic City Trip on May 2nd , the Walk-a-thon on May 8th and that our local scholarships are due on May 8th.

The Memorial Day Parade is Monday, May 31st. All new members are welcome to march in the parade. We would like to make a good showing for Loggia Glen Cove #1016. The parade starts at 1 P.M. Please meet at 12 Noon at the Lodge. We will be marching with the talented Sangenito Italian Band. Please remember to wear your uniforms. If you have any questions in regard to the parade you may call Br. Mike Carrera at 671-6368. After the parade you are welcome back to the lodge for a light collation. I have listed all the committee people in the La Voce this month. If you have any questions in regard to any of these committees, you may call me at 676-7436. As you will see in the Dates to Remember, I put in some July and August dates. Please mark you calendars. I would like to wish all mothers a Happy Mother’s Day.
