PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: It’s hard to believe that Summer has finally arrived. Summer is a wonderful time of the year. It’s a time for vacations, barbecues, picnics and fun in the sun. In June the Lodge attended the 99th Order Sons of Italy State Convention. The following delegates were in attendance: Brs. Michael Ceriello, Tony Ceriello, Dante DeBlasio, Rocco DiSibio, Angelo Grande, Rocco Lisena, Jim McAleer, Michael Santoro, Tony Sclafani, Frank Stanco and Srs. Janis Ceriello, Lillian Ceriello, Kathryn Grande, Sarah Green, Antonetta Sclafani and Nina Trolio. At the convention the Grande Family was honored as Family of the Year and was presented with a plaque from the Grand Lodge and a gift from our Lodge. On June 18th we celebrated the beginning of summer with our annual Summer Dinner Dance. A special thank you to Br. Rocco Cangero for organizing the dinner dance and Lorenzo Cangero for providing the music. He was assisted in his efforts by his committee consisting of: Br. Mike Ceriello, Sr. Lillian Ceriello, Br.Carmine Gioino, Sr. Ann Gioino, Br. Lou Saviano and Sr. Pam Cangero. We will be going to Atlantic City on June 26th. Our next membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 6th. We will be honoring our scholarship and award recipients and initiating some new members. Please plan to attend to show them your support. We are planning a light collation after the meeting. Our annual picnic will be held on Sunday, August 7th at the YMCA in Glen Cove (see attached flyer). Please RSVP as soon as possible, so that we get a count on how many people will attend. We will be holding our annual golf outing on Monday, August 15th at the Glen Cove Golf Course. Please plan to set up a foursome or sponsor a tee (see the attached flyer.) The dues for the year 2005 are already due. Please use the invoice in LaVoce to send in your dues. You are only a member in good standing when you pay your dues. We still have a few members, who have not paid their dues. We are still waiting to receive 8 x 10 photographs of Past Presidents. If you know someone who was a Past President and is not active please let them know we are looking for their picture. You may call Sr. Kathryn Grande at 676-7436. Don't forget our membership meeting on Wednesday, July 6th. Please come early, so we will be able to start our meeting at 8:00 P.M.
