PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: It’s hard to believe that summer is here. The schools will be closing for the summer and families are planning for their vacations. June was a busy month with communions, confirmations, graduations and weddings. The Lodge attended the 98th Order Sons of Italy State Convention at the Nevelle Grande Hotel from June 10th to June 13th. The following delegates were in attendance: Angelo Grande, Tony Sclafani, Michael Carrera, Tony Ceriello, Michael Ceriello, Frank Stanco, Michael Santoro, Carmine Gioino, Dante DeBlasio, Rocco Lisena, James McAleer, Rocco DiSibio, John Laruccia, Lester Stanco, Kathryn Grande and Lillian Ceriello. On June 19th we celebrated the beginning of summer with our Summer Dinner Dance. A special thank you to Br. Rocco Cangero for organizing the event and his son Lorenzo for providing the music. I was unable to attend because of a bachelor party for my future son-in-law Phil. My wife Kathryn was able to attend and informed me that the food was delicious and the DJ was great. I understand that it was a wonderful night.

I would also like to thank Brs. Carmine Gioino, Lou Saviano, Jim McAleer, Dante DeBlasio, Mike Ceriello, Rocco Lisena, Tony Ceriello and Srs. Anna Maria Saviano, Michele Abbondandolo, Janis Ceriello, Lillian Ceriello, Maria Abbondandolo and Grace Stanco. We will be going to Atlantic City on July 11th. Don’t forget that our next membership meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 7th. We will be honoring our Scholarship Recipients and initiating some new members. Please plan to attend to show them your support. We are planning a light collation after the meeting. Our annual picnic will be held on Sunday, August 8th at the YMCA in Glen Cove (see attached flyer). Please RSVP as soon as possible so that we can get a count on how many people will attend. We will be holding our annual Golf Outing on August 16th at the Glen Cove Golf Course Please plan on setting up a foursome or sponsor a tee.
