PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: I hope you and your families had a blessed Christmas and enjoyed our wonderful Italian traditions. As Italians we cherish our families. The family is the center of our lives. We have brought many traditions and delicious foods from Italy. I hope you pass these on to your children. December was a busy month a Loggia Glen Cove. On December 1st we had our annual Christmas Party, following our regular membership meeting. I would like to thank all of the people who brought covered dishes for the collation. The food was delicious. I would also like to thank those who helped. On Saturday, December 4th we had our Children's Christmas Party. It was a wonderful day for the children, parents and grandparents. We had a great clown who entertained the children. The children were treated to a wonderful lunch and received some great gifts from Santa. I would like to thank the committee: Brs. Lou Saviano and Saverio Gallace, Srs. Mary Capobianco, Marie Ruggiero, Nina Trolio and Lillian Ceriello. A special thank you to the students from the Glen Cove High School Italian Club Michele Constantino and Maddalena Salamone who came to assist with the children. A special thank you to our Santa, Br. Tony Sclafani. On December 12th we had our trip to Atlantic City. I would like to thank Br. Tony Sclafani for organizing the trip. On December 13th we had our Ladies' Christmas Party and on December 17th we had our Men's Christmas Party. On December 31st we are planning to have our New Year's Eve Party. A special thank you to Br. Rocco Cangero for organizing the affair. I would like to thank our nominating committee Br. Tony Ceriello, chairman, Sr. Rose Pascucci and past presidents, Brs. Lee Cerullo, Tony Sclafani and Sr. Kathryn Grande for putting together a slate of officers for the 2005-2006 calendar year. The slate of officers will be announced at our January 5th membership meeting. At our February 4th meeting we will vote for our slate of officers and on March 2nd we will have our Installion of Officers. In this months LaVoce I have attached a copy of the New York State Order Sons of Italy Scholarship application (see the attached application for details). Don't forget, our next membership meeting will be on January 5th. As usual a light collation will be served following the meeting. Don't forget our Bowling Party on February 3rd (see the attached flyer for details). Due to the Christmas Holiday we were not able to provide you with the Italian Translation for my letter.
