PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: I hope this newsletter finds you and your families in good health. We have had a mild winter so far, but I think the worst is yet to come. Let’s hope for the best. On December 31st we had our New Year’s Eve Party. A special thank you to Br. Rocco Cangero for organizing this affair. A good time was had by all. I would like to thank our nominating committee Br. Tony Ceriello, chairman and past presidents Sr. Kathryn Grande, Brs. Lee Cerullo, Tony Sclafani and Mike Carrera for putting together a slate of officers for the 2006-2007 calendar year. We will vote on the slate of officers at our February 1st membership meeting and at our March 1st membership meeting we will have our Installation of Officers. In this LaVoce I have attached a copy of the New York State Order Sons of Italy Scholarship and Grant application (see the application link for details). Our Bowling Party will be held on February 12th (see the attached flyer for details). March will be a busy month for us. In addition to our Installation on March 1st many of us will be going to installations at other Lodges. We are planning a trip to Lincoln Center in New York on March 11th to see Paul Sorvino in The Most Happy Fella (see attached flyer for details). On Sunday, March 19th we will march in the Glen Cove, St. Patrick’s Day Parade and after the parade we will have our annual celebration to St. Joseph. We will be setting up an altar. Would you please bring a covered dish. (see attached flyer). The dues for the year 2006 are already due. Please use the invoice in LaVoce to send in your dues. You are only a member in good standing when you pay your dues. We are still waiting to receive 8 x 10 photographs of Past Presidents. If you know someone, who is not active please let them know. You may call Sr. Kathryn Grande at 676-7436. Br. Sal Scalice has put up the beautiful frame that will hold the photos. Don’t forget, our next membership meeting will be on February 1st .
