PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: We were fortunate to enjoy some lovely autumn weather, but unfortunately winter is not far behind. The autumn leaves looked beautiful. I hope you all enjoyed a Happy Thanksgiving with your families. As Italians we cherish our ties to our families. The family is the foundation of our heritage. It is the time of year that we thank God for our blessings and pray for health and happiness. On October 30th we were privileged to have had Dr. Fred Gardaphe as our speaker at the Glen Cove Library. Dr. Gardaphe’s lecture was entitled, Moustache Pete is Dead: Italian American Culture Preserved in Print. After the lecture we invited the audience to come down to the Lodge for refreshments. At our last membership meeting on November 2nd we were fortunate to have had Dr. David Mercaldo tell us about his latest book titled Ferry. After the meeting we enjoyed a delicious collation. Thank you to Sr. Rose Pascucci and Br. Carmine Gioino for preparing the meal. The deceased members’ mass on November 7th was beautiful. We had a great turnout. I would like to thank the committee: Sr. Mary Capobianco and Brs. Lee Cerullo, Saverio Gallace and Guy Minutoli.
