PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: It’s hard to believe that we are almost into August. We are half way through the summer. I hope you all are having a wonderful summer. Enjoy your vacations and enjoy being with your families. At our last meeting we initiated Stuart Held as a social member of the Lodge. We also awarded two scholarships. Christina Galati was awarded the Lorenzo Martone Family Perpetual Scholarship and Michaela Martone was awarded the Dr. and Mrs. Michael Cavuoti Scholarship and the Scholarship in Memory of Marianna Crescimanno. On July 11th members of the Lodge ventured off to Atlantic City to try their luck at the casinos. A special thank you to Br. Tony Sclafani for organizing the trip. At our August meeting we will be awarding two Dante Medals and a Community Service Award. Giovanna Condello will be awarded the Loggia Glen Cove #1016 Dante Award for Excellence in Italian, sponsored by Sr. Elizabeth and Br. Michael Carrera and Liana Gregorio will be awarded the Loggia Glen Cove #1016 Dante Award for Excellence in Italian sponsored by Sr. Kathryn and Br. Angelo Grande. Victoria La Rosa will be awarded the Community Service Award sponsored by Br. Paul Annunziato. I hope you will attend this wonderful ceremony. A light collation will follow the meeting. A special thank you to Sr. Kathryn Grande for organizing our scholarship nights. Our August meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 4th at 8:00 P.M.

On August 8th the Lodge will be holding its annual picnic at the YMCA in Glen Cove. If you are planning to attend please call Sr. Kathryn Grande at 676-7436, so we can get an accurate count and know how much food to order (see enclosed flyer). The Queen’s Pageant will be held on August 15th at Verdi’s. On August 16th we will be holding our 17th Annual Ernest J. Pascucci Golf Tournament (see attached flyer for details). If you would like to donate a prize or a bottle to our basket of cheer or sponsor a tee, please contact Br.Tony Ceriello at 671-2388. District II will be holding its picnic at Eisenhower Park on August 22nd. The Lodge will be going to Shea Stadium on August 30th to see a Met Game and celebrate Italian Night. Br. Tony Sclafani will be running a trip to Atlantic City on September 12th (see attached flyer). On November 14th we will be honoring our Immediate Past President, Br.
