PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE: Dear Brothers and Sisters: It doesn't seem possible that a year has gone by since I was elected president of Loggia Glen Cove #1016. The installation was a great success. I would like to thank all those who made the installation a memorable event and for all those who bruoght a convered dish. A special thank you to Srs. Rose Pascucci and Grace Stanco for all their help in the kitchen. I would also like to thank all of theofficers and members of the Lodge who have assisted me during the past year. Running a Lodge is easy, if you have the right people behind you. I am looking forward to my second year in ffice and hope for your continued support. March was a busy month for us. In addition to our own Installation on March 2nd, many of us went to other installations at other Lodges. On March 13th we had our St. Joseph's Day Celebration. We set up an alter with the statue of St. Joseph, flowers, fava beans, oranges, nuts, and wine, as this was the tradition. We had another table set up with the St. Joseph bread that was donated by St. Rocco's Brick Oven Bakery. Our third table was our buffet table with a variety of meatless dishes which were brought in by our members. Fr. Aaron arrived and blessed the alter, the bread and our food. The St. Joseph bread was sold and the proceeds will be donated to the Outreach Program at the Church of St. Rocco. I would like to thank Sr. Kathryn Grande for organizing the event and to Terry Tanzer for ordering and picking up the bread and the pastries. Thank you to all who brought in the food. Our collations are always a success because of the efforts of Srs. Grace Stanco and Rose Pascucci and the help of Sr. Phyllis Cerullo and Br. Jim McAleer as well as anyone else who helped that day. Don’t forget our Football Wedding, which is scheduled for Saturday, April 23rd. If you are interested in helping with the party please contact Sr.Kathy Grande at 676-7436. The dues for the year 2005 are already due. Please use the invoice in LaVoce to send in your dues. You are only a member in good standing when you pay your dues. I have also attached a copy of our local scholarship application in this issue of LaVoce (see attached application). We are still waiting to receive 8 x 10 photographs of Past Presidents. If you know someone, who is not active please let them know. You may call Sr. Kathryn Grande at 676-7436. Please come to our May 4th membership meeting as we celebrate our 85th Anniversary and will be having Walter Wolff as our speaker.
